"I have tended to see Drew as being the holist who cast any sense of
reductionism to the wind. However, I think Drew does have a point. I think that we probably should consider taking
more local offices."
"Experience and success gained running candidates at the local levels
of political activity can help us win later on the national level.

Political Endorsements As of January 1998, I have the campaign endorsement from Sam Day , a fellow peace activist, who is Editor of the Progressive magazine. His sidekick from the Progressive, Sydney Lens, and Baba Ram Dass were our guest speakers for the San Diego Peace Coalition in 1982, when we were campaigning for the Bilateral Nuclear Weapons Initiative on the California ballot. In October 1997, Ralph Nader asked me if I wanted his endorsement. I was irked that Ralph didn't think that there was an issue of integrity when he ran as the '96 Presidential candidate for the Green Party though he didn't register as a Green Party voter. So, to get my sentiment across, I told Nader that I'd accept his endorsement AFTER he registers with the Green Party. According to May '98 news reports, it seems to Nader's credit, he will NOT be running as the Green Presidential candidate in 2000. Shannon Robinson is the Democratic State Senator for New Mexico's District 17 (Albuquerque). Though I'm the Green Party candidate, as of August 1998, I have Shannon's endorsement against the Democratic incumbent, Rita Getty.
Some of Andrew Homer's Beliefs * Petition for a New Mexico state ballot initiative right AFTER we get a real referendum. * Encourage people to form and join co-operatives (worker/producer owned or consumer owned). Health Homer - Eat Meat & Die?
* Homer's Hot Links * Hyperlinks to our favorite righteous political justice, social justice, and economic justice organizations are at HERESY PARTY - Links Page web site.
To read about the TIMELINESS of the efforts of my 100 co-authors and I on The Resolution for Unilateral Freeze, No-First-Use, and No-First-Strike of Nuclear Weapons; read about madman President Ronald Reagan, his brinkmanship with "the Evil Empire," and the American and Soviet generals attitude about nuclearMutually Assured Destruction.
* The patriarchs are still trying to tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. The Republican Congress is cutting funding for reproductive health services and they are bringing back the gag rule that prevents doctors from telling women when they need abortions to save their lives. We have to stop the Republicans in order to save lives.
* Force the Israeli government to release Mordechai Vanunu not just from solitary confinement, where he's been for 11-years, but from prison, all together.
* Explore the "face" pyramid at Cydonia on Mars. (I TOLD YOU SO - Which NASA in April, 1998. For two contrary assessments of the photos that have been downloaded see Hoagland vs. Black Belt.)
* Look for life in the warm waters on Europa. * Congressional hearing on the murder of President Kennedy and the subsequent Government cover-up. Why have records been sealed for 75 years?
* Meteor Impact Protection System. (I TOLD YOU SO - In March '98, for two days astronomers feared that they found an asteroid that would hit Earth in 30 years. Their recalculations found that it would miss, but for two days the news was rife with recommendations that we SHOULD have MIPS.) Sink Multilateral Agreement on Investment
Cancel the Debt of the World's Poorest Nations A billion people are trapped in poverty that they can do nothing about and
trapped under a mountain of debt they can never pay back. Rich nations take back $3 in debt repayments for every
$1 given in aid. Debt relief by the Year 2000 could save the lives of 21 million children. (Human Development Report UNDP 1997)
Greed & War World War One and the Viet Nam War were based on greed. A lot of American gold was parked in British banks, so when The Great War broke out between Germany against France and Britain, the U.S. sent it's Expeditionary Force to Europe to protect that American gold. By the way... America first offered the gold to the German Central Bank before the war, but the Germans said they didn't need it. You know that speck of an almost island that China and Viet Nam are currently squabbling over, because of all the offshore oil fields within a 200-mile radius? Well, that was the main reason the U.S. got involved in Viet Nam when the French troops pulled out. So many American, Vietnamese and Cambodian lives were lost, because the American Government was doing the bidding of the American petroleum companies.
Majestic - 12 According to General Doolittle, President Truman created Majestic-12, the invisible government, which was later strengthened by President Eisenhower. So, between the "undeserving rich" manipulating our economy and MJ-12 really at the helm of our government, you're naive if you believe that we have a free country. Just Say NO to Antibiotic resistance of the pathogens is identified as a major contributing factor. There is sufficient evidence that horizontal gene transfer is responsible for the emergence of both old and new pathogens, and for the evolution of multiple antibiotic resistance. We certainly do not need any more releases of transgenic organisms that would provide yet more vehicles for horizontal gene transfer. The transboundary movement of transgene and marker genes by horizontal gene transfer cannot be controlled if current transgenic practices are allowed to continue." "Horizontal gene transfer, especially when mediated by transgenic vectors, respects neither species nor national boundaries. As Salyers and Shoemaker (1994) state, "It is probably impossible to eliminate all [horizontal] transfer capacity from a genetically engineered strain that is going to be released into the environment." This makes it paramount to control what is being released in the first place. Once transgenic organisms are released, by intent or by accident, neither they, nor the transgenes can be recalled. That is why adequate monitoring procedures must be put in place which includes tracking horizontal gene transfers at and around the site of release. Deliberate releases, as well as tolerated releases from contained uses, may indeed have unintended transboundary effects, and that must be included for consideration in the biosafety protocol." "Nature is interconnected in such a way that each and every species maintains its own integrity, and that may be the essence of biodiversity. Biodiversity may simply be a state of coherence for the ecological system akin to that which exists for an organism as a whole (see Ho, 1993, 1996b). Gene biotechnology can only be safely practised, if at all, by safe-guarding the coherence of nature's biodiversity." For more info, see Transgenic Transgressions.
Just Say NO to Globalization "One World, Ready or Not: The Manic Logic of Global Capitalism" by William Greider is an excellent antidote to all the globaloney we get from the corporations about the wonders of free trade. As the Asian economies reel, Greider's book seems almost eerily prescient. One of the greatest sour satisfactions in life is being able to say "Told you so," and Greider did tell us so. The national debate on globalization and trade has been so heavily weighted by corporate money that if I could, I would make Greider's book required reading for all Americans. But why make it mandatory when reading it is so instructive that it is its own reward? Foreign Relations Andrew Homer has traveled to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, mainland China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Macao, Mexico, and Uruguay.
Fear, Loathing & A journalist asked Mother Theresa "Why do you have so many of your Sisters of Mercy here in America, the world's wealthiest country?" Mother Theresa answered, "Because of the spiritual poverty in America." The spiritual impoverished are the fearful ones. The religion they practice is "materialism." There are two churches of materialism. There's the Financial Church. Be they capitalist economists or Marxist economists, they're both members of the Financial Church. They trust that their portfolios or economic laws will still be there in the morning to succor them. Just don't upset them with any mention of spiritual law. Then there's the Church of Scientism. After a hard day of looking through a microscope or through a telescope, they rest their heads trusting that their immutable scientific laws will still explain all observed phenomena in the morning. Just don't upset them with any mention of spiritual law.
