"What is enclosed in the sanctuary of the arcana is disclosed in the testimony of the phenomena."
- Ibn 'Atâ'illâh

"Earth contains all things, in an earthly manner, which Heaven comprehends celestially."
- Proclus

"Things here are signs; they show therefore to the wiser teachers how the supreme God is known; the instructed priest reading the sign may enter the holy place and make real the vision of the inaccessible."
- Plotinus

"All our greatest philosophers and theologians unanimously assert that the visible universe is a faithful reflection of the invisible, and that from creatures we can rise to a knowledge of the Creator, "in a mirror and in a dark manner," as it were. The fundamental reason for the use of symbolism in the study of spiritual things [is that] we know for a fact that all things stand in some sort of relation to one another; that, in virtue of this interrelation, all the individuals constitute one universe and that in the one Absolute the multiplicity of beings is unity itself."
- Nicholas of Cusa

"The universe is but one vast symbol of God."
-Thomas Carlyle

Mithras

People only want to hear what they already know (or think they know). You can be right as rain, but if someone isn't already familiar with your thesis, they don't want to hear it.

My idea for an Astrology Church isn't original. Though I've been developing the idea since about 1985, I've just discovered, today
(9-21-99), that this idea is at least 2,100 years old. My idea for an Astrology Church goes beyond the Church of Light which was founded in Los Angeles about 1915.

If you add Astrology to Christianity you basically get Mithraism, aka Manichaeism. Since Jesus' uncle, Joseph of Aramethea, was the third wealthiest man in the world, during his time, he was able to afford to replace the name Mithras with the name Jesus.

Christianity is Mithraism with the Astrological preoccupations carved out of it. I never could figure the connection between Rome and Jesus. The connection was between Rome and Mithraism. The throne of the Mithraic Father of Fathers was on Vatican Hill, which the Christian Bishops comandeered on 25 December 376 AD.

The throne of Peter was the throne of Mithras. St Augustine said that the priests of Mithras worshipped the same God that he did. That Jesus was
Mithras.

"When I consider thy Heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man that thou art mindfull of him?" - Psalm 8:3

"AND THERE SHALL BE SIGNS IN THE SUN, AND IN THE MOON, AND IN THE STARS..." - Luke 21:25. When Astrology started 5,000-10,000 years ago it was a divination system. If the Great Spirit made the entire universe, then Astrologers are prophets using a valid and verified system to study the universe to better understand the intentions of the Great Spirit. Emerson wrote that "Astrology is Astronomy brought down to Earth and applied to the affairs of Man."

Welcome Psuedo-Christians

I define a Psuedo-Christian as someone who: quotes from the Old Testament (Jewish scripture), puts words into Jesus' mouth, is judgmental, and thinks they have the right to attack others with different beliefs. As one British wag put it "I don't find anything wrong with Christianity in Britain, except for the fact that it never got started." Nowhere in the New Testament are my favorite topics of Astrology or Reincarnation knocked, but notice how psuedo-Christians lie and fabricate a case against those topics. Excuse my Sun on the 3rd cusp, Mars and Jupiter in Sagittarius, my 9th cusp ruler in the 1st house, Mercury 59 Jupiter, and Midheaven and Pallas in Gemini, but always being in "teacher mode" let me remind you psuedo-Christians that Jesus did NOT say that he was the ONLY way. But that he said that "You can do as I and MORE." Besides, who were those three men on camelback who rode to Bethlehem to see the Christ child?

Challenge

Dear Psuedo-Christians who think the Earth is only 6,000 years old.

How do you explain the 50 million year old skeletons that were discovered by California gold miners in the 1850s at Table Mountain in Tulane County?

Why the Mithras
Astrological Church?

Statement of Purpose of
Mithras Astrological Church

1 - To remind "Christians" that the three men on camelback who visited the Christ child, in Bethlehem, were Astrologers.

2 - To provide Astrological pastoral counseling.

3 - To present the diverse Astrologies from around the world.

4 - To proselytize the history of Astrology and to present the biographies of prominent Astrologers.

5 - To provide informational resources for Astrologers.

6 - To train Astrologers to improve their skills.

7 - To support Astrological research.

8 - To remind researchers of the limitations of scientism.

Statement of Principles of
Mithras Astrological Church

"THE STARS IMPEL,
THEY DON'T COMPEL."

Carroll Righter

Pluto has a 248 year orbit. When Pluto is in Sagittarius, new ideas in religion are floated. Then during the first 2 years of Pluto's entry into Capricorn is when those religious ideas get accepted and established into society. The Mithras Astrological Church will be a reaccepted reality during 2008-2010.

Quotes by Famous People on Astrology

From I Corinthians 14: "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophecy." (Verse 1) "...he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." (Verse 3) "I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification." (Verse 5).

The Bible says that the sun, moon and stars were created to RULE us - not merely that God rules us, or that planets have "symbolic" meaning, but that God created (set in motion) planetary influences that RULE (Genesis 1:16; Psalms 136:9); those who are Christian would not see this as false gods competing with the one true God - merely that God created subordinate influences set in motion by His hand and operating under His direction, like the angels as well as earthly religious leaders who provide guidance and influence over us.

Job 38:31 talks about the INFLUENCES of several constellations, not merely their symbolism.

Jeremiah 31:35 refers to the ORDINANCES of the moon and the stars (see also Psalms 8:3).

Matthew 2:2-10 mentions travelers led by a STAR, coming from the East - the lands in which astrology emerged. The visitors are called "wise men," and are guided by stars. Clearly, those who wrote, compiled and preserved the Bible for us, had no opposition to astrology as a subordinate but legitimate influence.

Astrology should not be taught as science - but then again, the Bible is not "science" either nor should IT be taught as such. That which is based on faith, belief or superstition should not intrude on the scientific method which is founded on observable (and ever-changing as observational techniques improve) empirical data (the opposite of FAITH, which Hebrews 11:1 tells us is that which is "hoped for" but NOT SEEN).

In one of the few specific references to the word "astrology" in the Bible (Daniel 1:20 and various other references in the book of Daniel, during the Israelites' Babylonian captivity with frequent exposure to astrology), the Bible writer does NOT put astrology on one side of a good/bad equilibrium and contrast God's religion against astrology, but rather on the SAME SIDE of a continuum of good - merely saying that the demonstration of God's power was merely "ten times better" in the order of things and further along than that of the astrologers. Even so, I haven't heard of anyone in modern American society trying to use astrology as a basis for public policy.

When discussing sorcerers, witches, wizards, and psychics, the Bible clearly, and sometimes in rather harsh terms, identifies its incompatibility with them, but the Bible NEVER includes astrology, but does include compatible observations and specific positive references to astrology in other contexts. If the Bible writers had intended to include any opposition to astrology, these would have been perfect opportunities to do so, but they don't.
