Is Astrology a Science?

Astrology in Russia

HyperAstrology is not...
Forget Placidus cusps, wide orbs for aspects, and arbitrary star constellations.
Doris Doane has her Astrodynes and Ken Stone has his Cosmodynes. Yes, I fell into their trap
and devised a one-up-man-ship integrated multi-vector dyne analysis, myself. But, I believe their and my efforts
in dyne analysis are mind games that aren't going to be making a contribution to your life.
I never got so brilliantly elaborate as Whitney's Dynamic Astrology. Since Whitney does account
for transit timing hitting ones chart, I need to study that further.

Three-Planet Solar System Discovered

HyperAstrology is ...
Planetary aspect patterns, Asteroids, Cosmobiology, Declination Midpoints, Koch cusps, Longitudinal
Midpoints, Parallels, tight Orbs, major Stars, Transpluto, Uranian Astrology, and Zodiac Signs.
Different facets of our personality surface during different periods of our lives. Rather
than trying to melt all the crayons together into one composite color, as do Doane and Stone, I try to address
each distinct facet of one's personality.
I'll be using my Natal Chart as the example for HyperAstrology.

Nostradamus & the Solar Eclipse
of 11 August 1999
The point of greatest eclipse - as the moon's axis passes closest to earth - fell on the Romanian
town of Rimnicu Vilcea for two minutes and 27 seconds but clouds spoiled the view.
The next total eclipse that can
be seen from the U.S. is in 2017.

Attention Psychic Readers & Astrologers
If you're in the USA, over 18 years old and you'd like to be an independent
contractor working in the convenience of your home, see The
Nostradami web site.

Your Maven of Astrology
I'll try to avoid the vapid introductory Astrological information that can be found
anywhere. You'll find the mention of my Astrological services on my StarHeart web page.
On this web page I'll be presenting my observations of how and why Astrology
works in many areas of our lives and how Astrology provides us with objective and profound insights into human
behavior, and even weather, crops, commodities, the financial market, and earthquakes.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that "Astrology is Astronomy brought down to
Earth and applied to the affairs of Man." At the turn of the century, two giants on the American scene consulted
Astrologers - the world's first billionaire, J. P. Morgan and his victorious nemesis, President Teddy Roosevelt.
As you'll see on this Astrology Odyssey web page, I studied Astrology with the original intention of trying to debunk it. I continued to challenge
each and every Astrological premise that I came across. One example is that when I lived in the middle of Argentina,
I spent $700 on a round trip from my home in Villa Carlos Paz to Recife, Brazil for my birthday in 1990, to test
the theories of Solar Returns and Relocational Charts. You'll want to look at my Travel Astrology web page. My Natal Chart is on this Astrology
Odyssey web page.
So, you think there's no validity for Astrology because the worshippers of
scientism don't respect it? Read some of my arguments on my Astrology
Church web page. Ask a physicist to explain either electricity or gravity. Yes, they
can DESCRIBE them, but they CAN'T explain why they work. Touche.
Though the word "metaphysics" literally means "beyond physics,"
I define the term as referring to topics which the physicists are yet able to find the explanations. Besides Astrology,
I put Psychism and Reincarnation in this "metaphysical" venue.
A person's Natal Chart can be interpreted on these levels: Physiological (health,
nutritional needs), Emotional, Psychological (attitudinal), Social (relationships and hobbies), Spiritual (studies),
Societal (vocational), and Happenstance (events).

Early Astrology
Historically, serious Astrologers were, also, Astronomers. The Priest-Astronomers
of the Egyptians, the Chinese, the Indians, and the Mayans had to continually sky gaze, since they had no ephemeris
as we have today. Tycho Brache, Johannes Kepler, and Newton were Astrologers who advanced Astronomy so that they
would have superior tools to practice their Astrology.
But this trend didn't die out in the Renaissance. Gary Duncan, of the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory, in Pasadena, California, was an Astrologer since he was a child. He was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Max
Heindel, of Rosecrucian fame. The last two or three maththematical modifications for the calculations of the orbits
of Mercury and Venus, as incorporated by the U.S. Naval Observatory ephemeris, were figured by Gary Duncan.

Psychological Astrology
5,000-10,000 years ago, Astrology started at the macro level - societal, crops,
government, and warfare; not the micro level - personal health and psychology. The rise of Psychological Astrology
is in it's infancy, developing along with the young field of Psychology itself. (Some literary types believe that
the field of Psychology started with Shakespeare, rather than with Freud. Note the many astrological references
in Shakespeare's works.)

Relationship Astrology
Sunsign-to-Sunsign dynamics may be relevant the first month when a couple meet,
but that's it. Let's get a little deeper than those entertainment Astrologers. The two main "yang" planets
in a chart are the Sun and Mars. The two main "yin" planets are the Moon and Venus. (Of course the Sun
and Moon aren't planets, I'm just testing you.) Yes all of the other planets are modifiers, but these four are
the main factors to analyze when doing Synastry (comparing two charts). Ideally, your yang planets should be making
a copesetic aspect (0, 120, or 60 degrees) to the the other person's yin planets, and vice versa. The next most
important points to look at are Mercury and the Ascendant degree. See more at my Relationship Astrology site.

Natural Psychologists
Look at the charts of the great psychologists and the great astrologers. Look
at the zones from 16 to 20 degrees of the Fixed signs - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Without exception, you'll
find their Sun or Moon or Jupiter.

Intuitives & Psychics
In the charts of intuitives and psychics, look for Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
Well within a 90 seond orb, you'll find two of them aspecting the person's Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ascendant,
or Midheaven.

Moon Nodes & Synastry
When doing Synastry, it's amazing how often I'll find tight aspects (30 minute
orb) to a Moon Node from a planet in the other person's chart. Unlike Carl Jung, I haven't done any statistical
analysis of the charts of couples compared to the inter-chart aspects of randomly selected charts, but I bet if
Jung had included the (true) Moon Nodes in his research, that he would have found them to be the most pertinent
points in chart comparison.

Astrological Commentary
President Teddy Roosevelt - Had his natal chart parked on his chess board in
the Oval Office.
J.P. Morgan - The world's first billionaire said, "Millionaires don't
use Astrologers, but billionaires do."
Carl Jung - Confessed that when he was stumped by a client, he would analyze
their natal chart. I wonder why he didn't start with their chart as do the wise psychologists Liz Greene, of London,
and Karen Hamaker-Zondag, of Amsterdam.

Parallel Lives
Copyright 1997 by Andrew Homer
Dear Relocational Astrologers - Here's probably a first. When doing synastry
for customers, try Parallels of Declination BEFORE the usual planetary aspects. Give me your feed-back. I haven't
read this anywhere in the Relationship Astrology texts, but it works great for me.

Parallel Lives, Part Two
Copyright 1996 by Andrew Homer
Dear Relationship Astrologer - So, you thought I gave you too much to do when
I told you to use Parallels of Declination when comparing two charts? You ain't seen nuthin' yet. Now, calculate
ALL of the MIDPOINTS by DECLINATION. That's right, slouch. But, when calculating, toss out the Ns and Ss. That's
right. IGNORE that one planet is north while another planet is south. Just treat them as "absolute numbers."
So, 24 north and 22 south do NOT make for 1 north, but rather 23 PERIOD. Now, do your synastry of one partner's
planets to the other partner's midpoints (as you usually do with longitude midpoints), then vice versa. (You do
that don't you?)

Transpluto Alert
Copyright 1996 by Andrew Homer
During the late '70s and early '80s, Joyce Wehrman from Colorado, Neil Michelsen
from New York, and I lived n San Diego. As publisher of ACS, Neil was going to press with the American Ephemeris
for the 20th Century. Omitting declinations, Neil decided to include some new astronomical object that Astrologers
previously were under-using in their charts. Neil was initially impressed with the arguments for Transpluto in
Joyce Wehrman's WINNING and John Hawkin's TRANSPLUTO OR SHOULD WE CALL HIM BACCHUS THE RULER OF TAURUS? A West
German Supreme Court Judge, Theodor Landscheidt, who's also Europe's top amateur astronomer, has popularized Transpluto
since 1960. In 1949, astronomers found eight comets orbiting Transpluto. (Only five have been found to orbit Pluto.)
Separate discoverers have named it Planet P, Persephone, Bacchus or Pandemonium. Transpluto's sidereal period is
685.65 years. Transpluto last entered Aries in 1772, Taurus in 1804, Gemini in 1838, Cancer in 1879, and Leo in
1937. Transpluto will enter Virgo in 2014.
But Zane Stein, Al Morrison, Malcolm Dean, James Neely, and I were so persuasive
that Neil changed his mind and put Chiron into his new ephemeris, instead of Transpluto. Since 1977, Chiron has
become the "pet rock" of American Astrologers. From hindsight, I now believe it was a Pyrrhic victory
that Chiron got into Neil's popular ephemeris. After studying the charts of large scale accidents, explosions and
disasters where many people died, I've discovered that Transpluto is too consequential for American Astrologers
to continue to ignore. Joyce was right.
The best Transpluto ephemeris is in Hawkins' book published by the American
Federation of Astrologers. The CCRS and Solar Map software includes Transpluto. When requested, ACS includes Transpluto
for free into their charts.
The transiting square between Pluto and Transpluto in 1992-94, involved financial
crisis. In 1993-94, twice the norm of earthquakes and volcanoes occurred. Transpluto was conjunct Pluto and square
Saturn in Fall at the start of World War II. Get Valerie Vaughn's "Persephone Is Transpluto: The Scientific, Mythological & Astrological Discovery of the Planet
Beyond Pluto".

Chaldean Astrology
Here's a system that seems to have held up about 3,000 years regardless of
numerous calendar changes. See The Secret Language of Birthdays by Gary Goldschneider. Also using Chaldean Astrology,
The Planetary Hours mentioned in the back of Dell Horoscope magazine use to give Llewellen George's text A-to-Z
Horoscope Delineator the credit for their monthly column.

Chaldean Numerology
Psuedo-Pythagorean numerology is bogus. Notice that every Pythagorean numerology
text avoids any reference of the evolution of the modern English alphabet from the ancient Hebrew alphabet. A validation
of Neo-Chaldean numerology is to compare the last name of couples to find the similarity of family trees from the
SAME Chaldean value. See Numbers Will Tell by Gerun Moore. See Numerology Made Easy by William Mykian. See Cheiro's
Book of Numbers by Cheiro. See Your Numbers of Destiny by Urna and Marlow Gray. If you have an extra copy of Numera
by Pan Books, Britain, I'd love to get it from you. See more at my Chaldean Numerology site.
